Description

I am a Certified Master Fine Paints of Europe (FPE) applicator presenting a skilled contractor’s perspective on the application and sale of FPE. Whether you’re in retail or a contractor in the field, the selling of FPE is paramount. After all, who cares how proficient your application skills are if do not possess the skills to properly sell it? Several parallel questions amongst contractors and retail sales is what makes Fine Paints so different and how do I properly sell this stuff? I bring collectively my 25+ years of selling and application experience along with eight years of consulting others to my first consultation day to answer such questions.

DISCLAIMER:

Let me get this out of the way… I am not on Fine Paint’s of Europe’s payroll nor am I an employee of Fine Paints of Europe. I’m an independent contractor. Other than hiring me to perform some retail consultations ,Fine Paints of Europe and I are not legally bound. We are two separate entities including the information that we provide. My consultations are my good, bad and sometimes ugly contractor experiences that I share. Another words, I ultimately share my successes with you from what I’ve personally learned and what I’ve gathered from others to further your exploitation of FPE in a shorter amount of time. INDIVIDUAL RESULTS MAY VARY.

Speaking of questions, below are a few frequently asked questions that I receive quite often:

1. “Is Fine Paints of Europe just that shiny expensive stuff”?

Absolutely not and it’s not expensive, at all! There are several high-quality products and sheens in the FPE line.

a. A waterborne high build Universal Primer (UNI) and a high build solvent borne Alkyd Undercoater Primer. These primers are for interior and exterior use and can be tinted to any color.

b. Acrylic interior wall paint, Eurolux. Satin, Matt and Flat sheens. Extremely durable. Can be tinted to any color.

c. ECO, State of-the-art, low odor, WATER THINNABLE, urethane alkyd emulsion, interior and exterior trim, doors, shutters, facia, soffit etc. or even as wall paint. This is a modified product, alkyd resin with water clean-up. Durability of an alkyd with the flexibility of an acrylic. Best of both worlds. Can be tinted to any color. There are several other high-quality products, as well. As far as being “expensive” … when applied properly, they have about the same square foot application rates as most domestic “premium” comparable products.

2. “What is the “secret” to a smooth, almost dust -free application of Hollandlac Brilliant”?

Answer… THERE IS NO SECRET. The main reason that its not widely shared over the internet because there are so many variables you must understand to produce an almost flawless finish. There is NO one general formula that addresses the myriads of equipment, application and environmental situations. This application is an art and goes WELL BEYOND the normal specifications of the product. It’s like teaching how to paint like Picasso or Rembrandt in one setting…especially over the phone. THIS is why my in-person consultations can sometimes last up to 3 years. It depends how far the user wants to learn several of many sales and application processes. One consultation or three years’ worth…it’s up to you.

3. “Why doesn’t Fine Paints of Europe or my local retailer talk in detail about the fine application procedures of Hollandlac”?

Short answer, see above question and answer. Another of several other reasons is they are held to certain legal liabilities discussing anything further than what the manufacture intended its use for. It’s common sense once you think about it. If you want the manufacture specifications (which can promote beautiful results in and of themselves) consult FPE. If you want my experiences working beyond those specifications, I’m your guy.

4. “Do many contractors make most of their money with the “eye candy” of Hollandlac Brilliant?

Nope. Most long-term profits are made using UNI or Alkyd Undercoater primers, Eurolux, and ECO. Note: After your customers beautiful experience with these three/four products, upselling Hollandlac is so much easier. Not the other way around.

5. “How much is your consultation”?

My one-day IN-PERSON consultation cost is a flat rate of $3000 and the 2nd consecutive day for $1500. for the day. You are responsible to the material, sundries and machines needed for the training. My consultations usually take place in your shop or desired location. All travel, lodging expenses accrued from my training IS ON ME anywhere in the Continental United States when booking 30 days or more, in advance.

6. “Why does that seem so expensive”?

Question is, why is that so cheap? With the right information and diligent working application, what can be your potential? It’s up to you. Please feel free to contact me for further information and questions you may have. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.
